As a Director you are expected to play a significant role in the further development of the team and its transition into some new markets as we seek to diversify the offering to our clients. At present the majority of our activity is in the UK but we expect to grow our service offering across Europe and the Middle East. The individual will lead the business with another director and will be focused on developing new offerings, expanding the client portfolio entering into new markets for the team. The individual will need to work with WSP’s sector leads.

THE ROLE, WHAT'S INVOLVED?

• Play a significant role in developing new services, identifying and developing new clients, winning work and leading the execution of some of the larger client commissions.

• Developing WSP’s position with existing clients with the aim and objective of securing incremental new work.

• Lead the development of client relationships both for the benefit of your team but also the rest of the firm. Pursue opportunities and lead the conversion into projects.

• Representing WSP at client meetings – the candidate needs to demonstrate an excellent range of client management skills.

• Leading the analysis and preparing high quality reports, conveying complex commercial and technical issues in a simple form.

• Leverage the 65,000 strong internal domain experts and specialist consultants to find answers to complex problems.

• Leading the delivery of client engagements and operating in compliance with WSP’s operational policies.

• Working collaboratively across the WSP network to develop cutting edge client solutions.

• Support the build out of a market leading team in Europe and the Middle East.

YOUR TEAM

The PPP and Property team consists of 60+ FTEs and has a strong track record of supporting clients at a variety of stages across the investment cycle of PPP and property related transactions. Our key clients cover a wide range of different organisations in the private and public sectors. Key clients include financial institutions (pension funds, investors and financiers), operators and owners.

The team is currently diversifying from a strong focus on the UK market and has had a number of successes on assignments in Europe and the Middle East.

We are regularly involved from project origination through to completion, as well as during asset optimisation and modernisation and/or expansion of existing facilities. Our front-end consultancy is supported by 65,000 technical specialists globally. Our offer includes transaction services (including PPP), investment advisory, FM related services, technical reviews (including surveys) and management consultancy services.

WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE

• Degree level education in engineering, surveying or business related subject.

• Demonstrable track record of successfully operating at a Director level with P&L responsibility in a high performing consulting environment.

• Experience in PFI/PPP across a range of social infrastructure sectors including healthcare, education, transport and social housing. The following areas are of interest:

• Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and co-ordinating delivery of workstreams to tight deadlines and balancing competing priorities.

• Knowledge of the IPA PFI handback process.

• Ability to build incremental relationships for WSP and represent WSP within relevant industry forums and bodies.

• Working in the last wave of UK PFI and/or NHS LIFT projects

• Both public sector and private sector UK PFI experience

• Non-UK PPP advisory services either within the public or private sectors

• Strong spoken and written communication skills in English is required and additional language skills would be desirable.

• Ability to lead the development of client-facing relationships, with confidence communicating effectively with senior management teams of clients.
