What you will do

As a leader within the Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) team, the Strategic Sourcing Manager is reporting to the GSS Regional Lead and is responsible for developing and handling the overall sourcing and supplier management processes for the Brazilian Affiliate. You will also partner with business process from Brazil to source goods and/or services aligned with Amgen’s sourcing policies and processes in order to deliver business requirements at fair market value total cost and minimize risk exposure. On the other hand, you will also have more responsibilities that includes the following:

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead engagement with business partners in the Brazilian Affiliate related to Sourcing agenda & deliverables, within remit.

  • Influence and develop broad productivity / saving programs and initiatives aligned with Regional and Global Category Plans

  • Lead and drive across-functional sourcing strategies and develop a multi-year productivity / saving agenda to add new value and meet business goals for the country.

  • Support Chief Finance Officer as part of Amgen’s productivity system in coordination with Finance and partners.

  • Interaction with the General Manager, Business Unit´s and Directors – high exposure to the Staff members.

  • Ensure early involvement & demand planning of sourcing projects.

  • Participate in Regional Sourcing teams and Global category strategy development.

  • Ensure effective management of sourcing strategy development, selection and contracting processes, supply base control and performance and the sourcing process.

  • Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting local actual spend, trends, savings, forecasts, and supplier base data on the basis of pre-determined, relevant and measurable important metrics.

  • Define and document sourcing priorities, sourcing strategies and associated plans and cooperate with partners, combining outcome of analysis and sourcing initiatives.

  • Identify and define specific partner requirements.

  • Define evaluation/selection criteria, lead Request for Information/Proposal for Sourcing strategies above the threshold based on the Sourcing strategy.

  • Supplier evaluation & performance improvement: evaluate & establish target supplier performance.

  • Continue to use Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs to reduce enterprise risk and to gain access to external innovations.

  • Ensure compliance with Sourcing Policies requirements (Local and Global).

  • Benefits tracking: develop, implement, maintain, and report Key Performance Indicators that clearly reflect the achievement of objectives in each business area.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree

  • OR

  • Master’s degree and 2 years of Strategic Sourcing experience

  • OR

  • OR Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Sourcing experience

  • Sourcing / procurement experience within and external to the Pharma Industry

  • Sourcing knowledge: sourcing process, commodity management and analysis, supplier management and development, pricing theory and policy, negotiation, supply chain, make or buy.

  • Experience with sophisticated Request for Proposal (RFP/RFI/RFx) processes, supplier negotiations and contracting.

  • Experience in addressing leadership team.

  • Proficiency in English and Portuguese, both in oral and written communication.

  • Experience in any of the following indirect categories: Patient Support Program, Fleet, Market research and Data, Meeting Agencies, Marketing Agencies, Medical communications agencies, Travel, Printing and Fulfillment, Logistics/Warehousing Services, Professional/Consulting Services, Facilities/Real Estate.

  • Strong Negotiation Skills.

  • Experience with ERP systems (MyBuy, SCOUT, SirionLab).

  • Strong literacy on computer systems. (ex: Windows OS, MS Office environment, etc.) with an intermediate level of Excel skills as minimum (ex: Pivot Tables).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Known to work in partnering cross-functionally and across different countries, cultures, and time zones.

  • Min 3 years Business experience in a Pharmaceutical or similar environment

  • Project Management experience (team or direct)

  • Strong understanding in procurement solutions

  • Experience of over 3 years in leadership positions.
