The Team:

Our Supply Chain Network & Network Operations (SCNO) team help clients transform their value chains into competitive weapons. We drive efficiency, improve flexibility, and increase responsiveness through proactive insights and decision-making. We advise, implement, and operate transformational solutions that bring world-class supply network and operational capabilities to our clients. We provide operational know-how, digital technologies, advanced analytics, and industry-specific hybrid solutions to deliver unprecedented client value. The GPS Energy, Climate, and Natural Resources (ECNR) team is part of the broader SCNO Portfolio within Deloitte Consulting. ECNR team is composed of 100+ energy-sector focused professionals serving public sector clients. Our community brings together the best and brightest talent from across the energy sector with a broad range of backgrounds in policy regulation, finance, engineering, and technology which allow us to deliver leading-edge solutions to our clients.

Work you'll do/Responsibilities:

  • Serve domestic and international government and public sector clients, devising and applying sustainable solutions to the clean energy transition towards decarbonization

  • Draft comprehensive reports on energy- and climate-related industry trends, outlining key findings, patterns, and implications

  • Perform detailed analyses of carbon emissions data, utilizing advanced modeling techniques to predict future trends and impacts to inform strategic decisions

  • Prepare and design compelling PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate complex data and insights to a variety of audiences, including stakeholders, clients, and team members

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives, which includes sharing insights, providing feedback, and contributing to team discussions

  • Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products

  • Display leadership and business judgment in anticipating client/project needs and developing alternative solutions

  • Participate in business development efforts and proposal development, as request

  • Actively expand consulting skills and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with clients

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

  • Exposure to and understanding of energy, climate, and natural resources issues, topics, and sectors

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Security Clearance for this role

  • Ability to travel up to 25% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/ sectors you serve

Preferred

  • Advanced degree in supply chain risk management, energy and environmental science, business, policy, or other related fields

  • Experience working with government and public sector clients including international development organizations, defense, and national security entities

  • Proven experience in developing and managing GHG inventories, along with the ability to measure emissions across Scope 1,2,3; this includes thorough knowledge of sector-specific emissions within various industries, such as agriculture, transportation, and energy generation

  • Possess experience in modeling emissions reduction strategies and comparing them against business-as-usual emissions forecasts; this includes researching potential for emissions reduction over time and making informed estimates of co-benefits and co-pollutants

  • Demonstrate proficiency in analyzing emissions and energy use data to identify trends, hotspots, and opportunities for targeted intervention.

  • Experienced in developing marginal abatement cost curves and conducting cost-benefit analyses of sustainability projects to identify the most impactful and cost-effective strategies.

  • Familiarity with major public data sources related to emissions and energy use, such as EPA SIT modules, MOVES, WARMs, the Argonne National Laboratory's GREET model, the International Energy Association's Annual Energy Outlook, the US Greenhouse Gas Inventory, and tools from the National Census of Agriculture and National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS)
