PROJECTXYZ has a rare opening for aMaintenance Technicianin our manufacturing area where we provide prototype molds and parts to major OEM companies using world-class equipment and leading-edge technologies through stereolithography, selective laser sintering, vacuum casting, and other specialized processes.

Purpose of Position:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting production operations, conducting general and preventative maintenance; electrical and mechanical, as well as building and grounds maintenance.

Job Duties:

• Ensures operation of electrical and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on hydraulic, pneumatic, water, coolant systems, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturers instructions, and engineering specifications.
• Completes or updates all maintenance-related documentation according to document control procedure: work orders, PM tasks, and maintenance manuals.
• Condition monitoring- locates sources of problems by observing devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments, initiate corrective actions to prevent unscheduled downtime.
• Troubleshooting malfunctions- selects logical approach to troubleshooting, repair problems, and write a detailed explanation on the cause of the malfunction.
• Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
• Fabricates repair parts as necessary.
• Maintains equipment, parts, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Able to read and follow drawings and document / communicate all machine control modifications to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to diagnose the root cause of the problem.
• Performs Lock-Out duties as necessary for all energy sources as the Authorized Person.
• Must be able to work under high pressure, continuous production environment with high standards.
• Proactive involvement in maintenance to report and prevent any deficiencies.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment adhering to 5S standards and all safety procedures while working efficiently to complete daily and weekly work schedules on time.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required with 1-2 years of Industrial Maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting or a Two-year Industrial Maintenance degree, Industrial Maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
• Equipment maintenance, technical understanding, dealing with uncertainty, safety, power tools, attention to detail, flexibility, supervision, job knowledge, productivity.
• Operate fork truck, man-lift, other mobile equipment, and cranes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, charts, and sketches.
• Precision alignment, cutting, welding, brazing, heating, and soldering are preferred.
• Preventive Maintenance familiarity - condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, proactive maintenance
• Root cause analysis possesses good mechanical and/or electrical experience.
• Be able to work collaboratively and effectively with others as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and active listening skills.
• Must possess complex problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Must be willing to work nights and an occasional weekend.
• Industrial maintenance degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Previous injection molding experience preferred

Working Conditions:

• Employee is regularly required to safely and efficiently perform tasks in a fast-paced working e vironment under minimal supervision.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, robots, and conveyors.
• Various physical demands.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
