As a Surveying Technician, you will perform field surveys to gather precise measurements, data, and geographical information using advanced tools such as GPS devices, total stations, drones, and other surveying instruments. You will collaborate with surveyors and engineers to help plan, organize, and execute various surveying projects, including land surveys, boundary delineations, topographic mapping, and construction surveys. Your role involves inputting the collected data into GIS software to produce maps, analyze spatial data, and create visual representations for projects in urban planning, environmental assessments, and infrastructure development.

You are responsible for regularly calibrating surveying equipment to ensure the accuracy of measurements and data collection. This includes preparing and maintaining survey tools and equipment for field operations and ensuring they are in prime working condition. Additionally, you will keep detailed and accurate records of all survey data, measurements, and pertinent information collected during field operations.

You will also assist in preparing maps, charts, and detailed drawings using CAD software or other drafting tools based on the survey data gathered. Identifying and resolving discrepancies or errors in survey data and measurements will be crucial, often requiring close collaboration with senior surveyors or engineers to address issues. Your role requires adherence to local, state, and federal surveying activities and land use regulations.

Effective communication with team members and supervisors about findings, progress, and challenges is essential. You will work alongside other professionals, such as engineers, architects, and planners, to support the goals of various projects. Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and guidelines during fieldwork is vital to maintaining your and your team's safety.
