American Lighting and Signalization (ALS) provides street lighting and traffic signalization construction, maintenance, and emergency response services in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. Our major customers include state departments of transportation (DOTs), investor-owned and municipal utilities, commercial retail land developments, and commercial road contractors.
Job Type: Full-Time +, Non-Exempt
Pay:$18.00 - $23.00 based on experience

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain electrical systems and microprocessor-based controllers including relays, wiring, conflict monitors, signal suspension cables, poles, communication modules, underground conduits, related lighting, and vehicle detectors.
  • Calibration and troubleshoot circuit boards, run diagnostic tests, analyze data of traffic flow and design timing of signal control devices.
  • Review inventory to ensure you have the tools and replacement parts needed.
  • Works independently and with Crews, and reports to administrative management.
  • Works around and communicates with customers and the public to maintain a high level of professionalism.
  • Keep company equipment and vehicles well maintained.
  • Reports to General Foreperson any issues or concerns.
  • Complete work or emergency assignments on an overtime basis. (This might extend to holidays, and weekends, subject to call-out work).
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to read traffic blueprints and interpret plan set layouts.
  • Ability to direct and oversee Traffic Signal Laborers.
  • Able to operate heavy equipment to install signal items and install power service.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend written and verbal instructions/information.
Education and Experience
  • #### High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
Pre-Screen
  • #### Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.
License and Certifications:
  • #### Driver license required.
Travel Requirements:
  • #### Must be willing to travel and work away from home occasionally.
