Work Schedule: 10 Hr (8:00:00 AM - 6:30:00 PM)

Summary:

The Supervisor Clinical Apheresis is a competent RN that exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. The Supervisor identifies patterns of patient responses and can use past experiences to implement solutions for current situations. The Supervisor is a competent nurse who has mastered technical skills and utilizes evidence-based interventions. The Supervisor Clinical Apheresis collaborates with other members of the health care team when the need for assistance is identified. The Supervisor is a team leader for the Bone Marrow Transplant health care and apheresis teams and is responsible for supervising, evaluating, and mentoring direct reports.

KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required.

  2. BLS/CPR certification must be current.

  3. Earned nursing degree at the baccalaureate level or higher for those hired after January 1, 2014.

  4. Required two years of oncology nursing experience or a Master's Degree in Oncology Nursing.

  5. BMTCN Certification preferred.

  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  7. Able to problem solve and interact effectively with challenging situations.

Knowledge of the apheresis machines (technical and operation) to troubleshoot problems or communicate with the relevant device manufacturers for optimizing use of machines. Knowledge of the facility standards and maintenance of relevant policies and SOPs.
