  • 4+ years of relevant work experience is required; a combination of education and experience may be considered

Additional Qualifications and Skills: The following job-specific skills and competencies are preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 3+ years of related experience in student services

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with relational databases

  • Experience with Campus Solutions or other enterprise student information system and database reporting software

  • Willingness to learn new software

  • Prior experience within an academic environment

  • Experience maintaining confidentiality and handling a variety of inquiries accurately and efficiently

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and verbal/written skills

  • Processes complex work in a fast-paced department

  • Works well in a collaborative environment required

  • Operates with a customer/client service focus

  • Experience working independently with minimal supervision

Department:Registrar's OfficePre-Employment Screening:Identity Job Function:General Administration Position Description: Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Masters of Science:

  • Primary contact in the Registrar's Office for Masters of Science students

  • Partner with academic department administrators to assist students for the duration of their program

  • Responsible for reviewing and processing student record updates

  • Ensures student enrollment is accurate by conducting audits each term, including cross-registration

  • Responsible for conducting degree audits for Master of Science students

    Guest Students:

  • Primary contact in the Registrar's Office for academic-year non-degree students

  • Manage administrative responsibilities for academic-year non-degree students from admissions through to completion

  • Processing applications each term

  • Approving course petitions and ensuring correct enrollment

  • Manages the non-degree project calendar in Asana

    TAP (Tuition Assistance Program):

  • Responsible for all administrative aspects of TAP benefit for approved Harvard employees taking classes at SPH

  • Works closely with the Registrar's Office Billing Team to ensure TAP students are accurately assessed tuition

  • Works closely with HR and the Benefits Office, as needed

    Other:

  • Ensures the Registrar's Office website is up-to-date and accurate, based on responsibilities

  • Evaluates and updates processes and procedures, as needed

  • Assists with in-person events such as orientation

  • Other duties as assigned

Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Chan School of Public Health (SPH)'s Registrar’s Office (RO) manages student enrollment, maintains student data and grades, monitors students’ compliance with degree requirements, certifies enrollment, assess tuition, and schedules courses. The office manages the local HSPH implementation of the student records components of the my.harvard Student Information System and the EMS room scheduling system. It is the source of student records reporting for SPH.
